VFL: Tigers shuffle coaches in bid to go one better

WERRIBEE Tigers have started their build-up for a big Victorian Football League preseason campaign.

Senior coach Scott West is hellbent on taking the Tigers one step further in his second year in charge.

The Tigers, who have bowed out at the preliminary final stage in the past two seasons, have brought in Scott Korczynski to head up the development squad and academy.

Korczynski spent the past seven years with TAC Cup club Western Jets. He started at the Jets in 2006 as head coach of the under-15 squad and became an assistant to Steven Kretiuk’s under-18 from 2009.

Korczynski is a physical education teacher at Lakeview Secondary College in Caroline Springs and has headed up its AFL Academy for the past six years.

Chris Gilham will move from the academy role to be a line coach.

Wade Chapman and Frank Fopiani have left the club.
