Police plea to missing woman

POLICE are appealing for a missing Werribee woman to make contact after it was revealed she accessed her bank account two days after she was last seen.

Sandra Pevitt, 45, left home at 8.30am last Wednesday and told a family member she was going to see a doctor. She did not visit the doctor and has not made contact with friends or family since.

Detectives revealed on Monday that Ms Pevitt accessed her bank account on Friday.

CCTV footage captured her withdrawing money from a bank at Wyndham Vale shopping centre in Tarneit Road. It is not known how much money she withdrew.

Werribee’s Detective Senior Constable Dave Reynolds said Ms Pevitt was alone in the footage and appeared to be “just going about her business”.

He said police had CCTV footage of Ms Pevitt “frequenting local shopping centres”. There were also indications she had been using her silver Hyundai car, he said. Police are reviewing other CCTV footage.

Senior Constable Reynolds said police remained concerned for Ms Pevitt’s emotional, mental and physical well-being. He said it was out of character for her not to make contact with family or friends.

Ms Pevitt is described as Caucasian, 167 centimetres, of medium build and with blonde, shoulder-length straight hair and brown eyes. She wears frameless glasses.

Her 2010 silver Hyundai i30 wagon, registration XVL284, is also missing.

Information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
