Blood donors needed to lift stocks

Werribee’s blood donor centre needs more than 600 donors to give blood this holiday period to secure blood stocks for cancer patients. The Australian Red Cross Blood Service is concerned most people in Melbourne will take a five-day weekend this Christmas, leading to a major drop in blood stocks. The service will run a ‘blood blitz’ to raise awareness of the critical need for blood this festive season. More details: donateblood.com.au.
