Laverton North staff exposed to toxic fumes

TWELVE workers at a Laverton North pharmaceuticals plant were exposed to toxic fumes when three barrels of chemicals exploded last week.

Police said 400 barrels of bleach became unstable due to over-pressurisation, triggering the explosions about 7.50am on November 26.

MFB crews rushed to the site in Cherry Lane. The incident caused traffic delays in the area.
