Country music

Come and join the king and queen of country music, Lee Kernaghan and Kasey Chambers, at Werribee Park on Sunday for Live on the Lawn. Many icons of Australia’s country music scene will be there, including Adam Brand, Morgan Evans and Melbourne’s own Deep Creek Road. Tickets from Ticketmaster are $84.50. Children under 12 are admitted free.

Open day

Cambridge Tennis Club is holding a free open day this Sunday. Activities will include come-and-try sessions, coaching clinics, serve speed tests along with a jumping castle and sausage sizzle. It will be held at Cambridge Reserve, Barber Drive, Hoppers Crossing, from noon to 4pm.

Fruit trees

Expert horticulturist Craig Castree will be at Werribee Park heritage orchard at K Road, Werribee South, every Friday until March27, from 9.45am, to give hints on grafting, pruning and fungal control. Bring a hat, sunscreen and secateurs. Enter by gate 2 and follow the signs.

Movie night

Baden Powell College is hosting a movie night on Friday, February 27, screening Mr Peabody and Sherman. Gates open at 6pm for an 8-8.30pm start. Tickets at the school or on the gate. Derrimut Heath Campus, 31 Sycamore Street, Hoppers Crossing.

Rhythms of Africa

Bringing together a magic mix of warm summer nights, African beats and picnics on the grass, the summer concert series is on every Saturday until February 28 at Werribee Open Range Zoo, K Road, Werribee South, 4.30-8.30pm. Adults $30.80, under-16s free, including zoo entry.

Backyard chooks

Learn Maltese at Kelly Park community centre every Monday, 6.30-8.30pm. There are classes for adult beginners as well as others for younger people and beginners.
