Everyone can be a star

Heather Morris, owner and director of Dance Network in Hoppers Crossing, is keen to get the message out to parents about the importance of children’s extracurricular activities that build life skills, confidence and fitness.

“Dance provides all these things. Our school is also a place where boys and girls of all ages can come and be part of something fun. We give them the chance to learn and grow as performers, gain confidence and form friendships. Dance Network is a place where everyone gets to be a star,” she says.

Established for 13 years and with more than 85 students, the school has a highly skilled group of instructors who love to teach and want performing to be a joy for all students. Classes include tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, break dance, contemporary, pointe, acting, singing, acrobatics, contemporary and strength and conditioning.

Students take part in all forms of competitions and have enjoyed considerable success, with troupes placing either first or second during the past five years.

A dancer since she was four, Heather discovered early the benefits of hard work and the fun in achieving goals.

She’s now keen to instil the same passion and dedication in her students.

“Dance is rapidly growing in popularity and there are schools popping up all over the place. But we believe our wide selection of classes will give students the extra edge in making it into the performing arts industry. Our goal is to expose students to all areas in the industry to give them every advantage,” Heather explains.
