Thieves swap Porsche for taxi in in Sanctuary Lakes

POLICE are looking for two men who took a stolen Porsche for a joyride last week. 

Officers spotted the stolen car in Sanctuary Lakes Boulevard about 1.40pm on Wednesday after receiving reports about a dangerous driver. 

A registration check on the car revealed it had been reported stolen. Police tracked the men to Altona Gate shopping centre, where the Porsche was found dumped about 2pm. 

Police believe the men were picked up from the shopping centre by a taxi and dropped off in May Street, Altona North. 

The driver is believed to be in his early 30s, of Middle-Eastern appearance and 183 centimetres with a shaved head. 

The passenger, also thought to be in his early 30s and of Middle-Eastern appearance, is about 177 centimetres with a medium-solid build.
