ORGANISERS hope an education program being run by Hepatitis Victoria and Wyndham Community and Education Centre will raise awareness of hepatitis C.
Students including Joel, Shanelle, Zach and Jessica (pictured) took part in a personal development skills unit during term one to learn more about the role of body art in the spread of hepatitis C.
The unit included presentations from a peer educator who has a relative living with hepatitis C, and a youth alcohol and drugs worker.
Students were asked to create art depicting what they had learnt.
Hepatitis Victoria’s Isabella Natale said the program was created because hepatitis C infection rates among young people were increasing.
