INSIDE the ‘Globe of Death’ the tiniest error could end in just that.
Three motorbikes ridden upside down inside a 3.5-metre diameter steel globe at up 70 km/h form the grand finale of Silvers Circus, now performing in Altona.
For variation, two riders zoom around and above a girl standing in the middle of the globe as the audience gasps and screams.
Rider Dominik Gasser (pictured with Phoenix Harrison) says there have been mishaps, but one can’t let nerves take over.
“You need trust in the other riders and training is just a matter of learning from your mistakes. You fall off and get up again.”
Other highlights include hoola-hoop artist Gypsy Gomez, who spins 70 hoops; Rosita Gasser on the Roman rings; and tight-wire performer Emma Avery.
Silvers Circus, owned and operated by the Gasser family, performs under the big top at Altona’s Apex Park until May 12.
Shows are Wednesday-Friday at 7.30pm (except May 8); Saturdays at 11am and 7.30pm, and Sundays at 11am.
