National Reconciliation Week: Wyndham celebrates indigenous  culture, history

Wyndham residents will come together to celebrate the contribution, culture and history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people during National Reconciliation Week.

National Reconciliation Week is celebrated across Australia each year between May 27 and June 3. Wyndham’s celebrations will begin with a gathering on Saturday, June 1 at limestone artwork Kirrip Warrung Biik, followed by lunch at Werribee’s Wedge Street piazza.

The city’s libraries will mark the week with a free screening of The Sapphires at the Plaza library and indigenous-themed storytime at the Wyndham Vale, Point Cook and Plaza libraries. Details: 9748 9333.
