Families and carers of people with mental illness are being invited to a support meeting in Werribee next week.
Representatives from Carers Victoria, the Mental Illness Fellowship and Mind will offer information on the support they have available.
Organiser and carer consultant Helen Lococo said peer support was valuable. “It’s knowing that there are other people who are dealing with the same situation, who understand what it’s like and understand the system and the difficulty people can have in accessing it.”
The meeting is at the community care units, 131-135 Synnot Street, Werribee, from 7-9pm. Details: 8734 1576.
