SPORTS teams across Wyndham will have improved access to defibrillators after St John Ambulance extended its Heart Start program.
The program, launched last year, offers clubs defibrillators at the discounted price of $1875.
The Hoppers Crossing Sports Club received a defibrillator last year.
Manager George Csifo (pictured with Daniel, 16, Darren Hellmann, and Alana, 17) says the device benefits many local teams.
“For every passing minute without a defibrillator shock, the chance of survival reduces by 10 per cent,” he says. “It’s an essential piece of equipment for community clubs.”
