Peachy keen about gardening at Werribee Park

BUDDING green thumbs are being urged to sharpen their pruning shears and head to Werribee Park for tips on growing fruit trees.

Werribee Heritage Orchard is holding a grafting day on Sunday from 10am-2pm to teach residents about growing fruit trees in their own garden.

Orchard committee members including Scott Hitchins and Craig Castree (pictured) will lead grafting demonstrations and orchard tours.

There will also be fruit trees for sale.

The orchard dates back to the 1870s and is renowned for its peaches, grapes, apples, quinces, pears, plums, walnuts and olives.
