RESIDENTS opposing Wyndham council’s plan to expand a Werribee tip to 45 metres above ground have submitted a petition calling for a community advisory committee to be created.
The petition was presented at Monday’s council meeting.
The landfill is currently 26 metres above ground, but the council recently applied to the Environment Protection Authority to expand that height to 45 metres. Wyndham chief executive Kerry Thompson said the petition would be considered at a later meeting.
