WERRIBEE City lost ground in the Football Federation Victoria men’s state league 1 title race with a 1-0 loss to Heidelberg United, one of the teams it is jostling with for the top ranking.
City has tumbled to third and is now five points behind ladder-leader United with five games remaining.
In other results, Hoppers Crossing was edged out 2-1 by Corio in state league 4, while Jamie Early scored a double for Point Cook in a 4-0 drubbing of Balmoral in state league 5.
