Teens rhyme for Werribee rhino

THREE Wyndham students were given a taste of the rap lifestyle
after being asked to record a rhyme for Werribee Open Range Zoo last
week.

Hoppers Crossing’s Elly Kerr, Point Cook’s Veronica
Henry and Werribee’s Callum Cook were among seven students chosen to
work with Melbourne rap artist Hugo on a song about the southern white
rhinoceros.

Visitor experience general manager Cathy Nixon said the
rhino was under threat from poaching and the zoo hoped the song would
raise awareness of the animal.

The song was recorded over two days at
Werribee’s Cavern Sound Studio. Its accompanying music video will
premiere at the zoo during the spring school holidays from September
21-October 6.
