There was a special substitute teacher at MacKillop College on
Friday when Sudanese refugee turned AFL star Majak Daw visited his
former school.
Daw, who is the AFL’s multicultural ambassador,
encouraged pupils to take part in Australia Post’s “AFL Letter Link”
program by writing a letter to their favourite footy player.
“As an AFL
player, I’m humbled by the huge amount of support we get throughout the
season,” the North Melbourne ruckman said.
“It’s always extra special to
receive a letter in the post from fans.”
AFL Letter Link is part of a
series of Australia Post education programs that encourage children from
all backgrounds and cultures to develop important communication skills
by writing letters.
