Mother charged over children’s lake deaths

The mother of three children who drowned in a lake at Wyndham Vale has been charged over their deaths.

Homicide squad detectives charged Akon Guode, 36, on Monday night with the murders of one-year-old Bol and four-year-old twins Hanger and Madit.

The children died when the car Ms Guode was driving crashed into Lake Gladman on April 8.

She was also charged with the attempted murder of her six-year-old daughter, Aluel, who was in the car but survived the crash.

Ms Guode faced an out-of-sessions court hearing on Monday night and was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court.
