Graduates from Wyndham council’s community leadership program are on a mission to improve their neighbourhoods.
During the 10-week Building Blocks program, the 39 participants developed skills such as project planning, grant writing and event management, which they will now use to run 10 community projects.
These will include a men’s well-being group at Wyndham Park Community Centre, a ‘clean up Tarneit’ day, and a Pacific Islander family event – all aimed at making a difference in people’s lives.
The program, set up by Victoria University, included a number of accredited modules from certificate courses, allowing participants to pursue further education.
