Bloody battles and science fiction have taken a Tarneit comic book creator to the top.
Shaun Paulet (above) created the Xtreme Champion Tournament comic book series about five months ago through crowd-funding website Kickstarter.
Since then he’s been travelling around Australia and the world to spruik his unique series.
Last week it was announced that after the sale of 500 copies, Xtreme Champion Tournament had become the number one independent comic book series in Australia.
Paulet said he was shocked at how quickly his creation had taken off.
“It’s been crazy, really,” Paulet said. “It still shocks me when people come up to me at conventions and want me to sign their comic book.”
Xtreme Champion Tournament follows a scientist who discovers the remains of ancient warriors and attempts to bring them back to life so they can compete in gladiator-style battles.
