Anton De Pasquale has stretched his lead at the top of Formula Renault 1.6 NEC Championship with a pair of wins at the iconic Nurburgring in Germany at the weekend.
The 18-year-old from Werribee South started from pole position in both races and was able to stave off the threat posed by the weather and the other drivers to make it four wins from six starts this season.
“It was tricky conditions on the track as some lines were wet, others dry,” De Pasquale told frcup.com after the second race. “It was an exciting weekend and I am very happy.”
De Pasquale (Lechner Racing) has 168 points to lead Janneau Esmeijer (Provily Racing, 138 points) and Larry Ten Voorde (PiroSports, 105 points).
There are eight races remaining in the European season, with the next stop being Assen in the Netherlands from August 1-3.
