Tarneit Central through

Tarneit Central is the first team through to the Western Suburbs Churches and Community Cricket Association division 1 T20 grand final

Both semi finals were set to be played on 27 January, but were postponed due to the heat.

In a repeat of last season’s grand final, Tarneit Central took on Altona Sports, this time for a spot in the decider on Wednesday night.

Altona won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Mandeep Singh was the key for Tarneit Central making 101 off 46 balls, hitting four fours and 10 sixes. He hit three sixes off his final three balls to get his 100 off the final ball of the innings.

He helped guide his side to 6-214 from its 20 overs.

Lachlan Bangs took two wickets for Altona.

Altona put on 48 for the opening partnership but the wickets then started to fall, with three in quick succession.

At 3-122 Altona was still in with a chance.

Altona lost its last seven wickets for just 30 to be bowled out for 152 with still 16 balls remaining.

Bangs top scored with 42 off 24 balls for Altona.

Rajbir Brar took 4-25 for Tarneit.

Tarneit awaits the winner of the other semi final that will be played on 3 February between Glen Orden Thunder and Williams Landing.

The semi finals in the other three divisions will also be played on 3 February.
