Man found dead in car, police quiz travel companions

Two people who were travelling with an elderly man before he was found dead in a car parked outside a regional hospital are being questioned by police.

The 93-year-old’s body was discovered in the back seat of car outside a hospital in Corowa, on the NSW and Victoria border, about 5am on Monday.

The elderly man is believed to have been travelling in a Victorian-registered car with a 33-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman.

All three are from Werribee, Victoria Police said on Tuesday.

NSW Police from the Murray River Police District initially responded to the incident before contacting Victoria Police.

Victorian homicide squad detectives have taken over the investigation given the man and his vehicle have links to Victoria.

The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are still being established and a post-mortem examination is set to be conducted.
