Wyndham teen arrested

Police have arrested 15-year-old Wyndham boy and charged two men after they allegedly evaded police following a hoon meet in the western suburbs on New Year’s Eve.

Officers were initially called to reports of an alleged hoon meet on Permas Way in Truganina about 11.50pm.

An Air Wing unit spotted a blue Ford Falcon allegedly performing a burnout with two passengers hanging from the car’s windows before police attempted to intercept the vehicle.

The blue Falcon then allegedly evaded police, driving erratically onto the wrong side of the road and through the suburbs of Truganina, Tarneit, Williams Landing and Laverton.

Police then successfully deployed stop sticks on Bronzewing Street in Williams Landing.

The Air Wing unit followed the falcon to an address at the intersection Whittaker Avenue and Bladin Street in Laverton, where the three alleged occupants hid in nearby bushes before being arrested.

A 15-year-old boy from the Wyndham area was arrested but later released and is expected to be issued with a number of penalty notices for traffic offences.

A 26-year-old Manor Lakes man was charged with 15 offences including reckless conduct endangering life, driving in a dangerous manner, failing to stop a vehicle on police direction and dangerous driving while being pursued by police.

A 23-year-old Manor Lakes man was charged with 10 offences including reckless conduct endangering injury, careless driving, driving in a dangerous manner, driving while authorisation suspended and improper use of a motor vehicle.

The Ford was impounded at a cost of $999.52.
