Filming for Insidious 6 is now underway at locations throughout the city, including Camberwell, Essendon and Kensington, as well as Docklands Studios.

Insidious 6 is part of a franchise created by Victorians Leigh Whannell and James Wan, which has become one of the most successful horror series of all time, grossing more than $740 million worldwide.

The film is directed by Jacob Chase and written by Chase and David Leslie Johnson will star actors including Lin Shaye (Insidious, There’s Something About Mary), Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Brandon Perea (A Big Bold Beautiful Journey) and Victorian actor Laura Gordon (Late Night With the Devil).

It’s the latest in a string of local and international projects to film in Victoria, including horror-thriller Stake Out, romantic comedy Her Aussie Romance, psychological drama The Dispatcher, Liam Neeson action film The Mongoose, World War II thriller Play Dead, original Stan series Gnomes, and ABC drama series Goolagong.

The production, which is expected to create more than 500 jobs and deliver as much as $29 million to the local economy,  was attracted to the state through the Victorian Screen Rebate and also received support from the federal government’s location offset.
