Wyndham well represented in State School Spectacular

Young stars from across Wyndham are taking part in the Victorian State School Spectacular (VSSS).

The VSSS is an event where performing artists from public schools across the state come together to showcase their different art forms.

From singing and dancing to managing the acts, there are many ways these bright sparks are putting their name in lights.

Eloisa and Michaela from Saltwater P-9 College are principal dancers.

In her final year of primary school, Eloisa has always had a passion for performing.

“I wanted to participate in VSSS because I’ve always had a passion for dance and musical theatre,” she said.

“Creative expression to me is super important because of all the great things you could achieve.

“I have been part of all of my school performing arts productions since I was in prep”.

Standing by her side, Michaela is excited to show her talents.

“Performing at VSSS has been one of my dreams since I was 10 and being able to do incredible dances with other students as passionate as I am, is an opportunity that I am extremely excited for,” she said.

“I am excited to be extended in the dances I learn, and I can’t wait to work with the teachers and choreographers”.

Fatima from Suzanne Cory is relishing taking camera duties.

“I am excited to learn real-world skills that contribute to my long-term passions for the future,” Fatima said.

Andy from Bemin Secondary College – truly behind the scenes and not pictured for this article– is working as a rehearsal stage manager.

“I am excited to learn the skills of stage management, collaboration, planning, and time management from spectacular industry professional mentors/mentors,” Andy said.

The Victorian State School Spectacular will be held on Saturday, September 13, at John Cain Arena.
