The 2026 Wyndham Art Prize is now open for artists to enter their new or existing works.
Attracting some of the best artists from across Australia, the competition is offering local and emerging artists the chance to exhibit their work.
Wyndham Art Gallery established the Wyndham Art Prize in 2015 and it has grown in calibre and prominence.
Artworks in any form, including (but not limited to) sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles, photography, installation, digital sound and video are accepted.
With a growing prize pool and expanded categories, this year’s edition celebrates the full spectrum of artistic expression.
More than pride is on the line, as there are prizes up for grabs.
First prize is $15,000 without the piece being acquired; second prize is $10,000; third prize is $8,000 and a Wyndham Local Emerging Artist Prize (LEAP) $5,000 acquisitive.
Mayor Mia Shaw said the prize is a wonderful opportunity for those who haven’t showcased work to make themselves known.
“This means that both emerging and established artists from all backgrounds are exhibited side- by-side, a priority for Wyndham Art Gallery.” Cr Shaw said
“We have a wonderful community in Wyndham and we encourage local artists in Wyndham to enter.”
Winning entries will be on display next year from January 19 to March 22 2026 at the Wyndham Art Gallery.
Entries close on Friday, October 3.
