The Wyndham Business Awards are as much about embracing the future as they are about honouring past achievements– and LygometryX. AI epitomises that.
Since launching the startup in 2024, husband and wife duo Gitansh Khirbat and Sneha Sant have been pioneering the way small and medium retailers operate their digital store fronts.
By offering low and no code artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure to help maximise conversion rates, monitor competitors and determine the best retail prices, LygometryX AI helps local businesses keep more of their profits.
“The philosophy was that most of the time small to mid retailers don’t have the budget to use data tools, so we wanted to empower them with all the latest resources,” Mr Khirbat said.
“What retailers face in this world is lost conversions, they operate on razor thin margins and messy data and no real AI expertise.”
That ingenuity was the reason they were nominated as runners-up in the 2024 WYNnovation pitch competition, and eventually crowned winner of the New and Emerging Start Up category a few months later at the business awards.
“It was massive. The first thing that it gave us was the validation of our hypothesis that this kind of thing is good – we are putting our money in the right basket,” Mr Khirbat said.
“It really gave us the momentum we needed.”
That momentum has shown that Wyndham startups can match it with anyone.
“It started as an idea for local Wyndham retailers but now helps business everywhere in Australia,” Mr Khirbat said.
“The definition of local a year back was just Wyndham, but now the definition of local is Australia.
The best thing it (winning an award) gives you is momentum and visibility, especially among the local community.”
He said more entrepreneurs in Wyndham should put themselves forward and realise their potential.
“The community is quite reserved in Wyndham, there is not much communication between the small businesses.”
“That collaboration is missing, ”
He said nominating your business is a good way of doing that.
“All those moving the needle in Wyndham are there on the night– it’s a great platform to start the seeds of communication.“
The co-founders, who met doing their PhDs at the University of Melbourne, are also living proof that entrepreneurship can be more rewarding with someone you love.
