New kindergartens announced

Dozens of new or expanded kindergartens will create thousands more kinder places for children in Victoria in 2025.

Children Minister Lizzie Blandthorn announced the new and upgraded kinders on Wednesday to help address demand in Victoria where 70,000 children are starting three-year-old kindergarten and around 80,000 children joining four-year-old kindergarten this year.

Of the 65 new or expanded services welcoming children in 2025, 45 are opening at council, non-government school and other sector sites, while 20 are based at government schools.

“Only a Labor government prioritises the education of children and cost of living relief,” said Ms Blandthorn in announcing the kinder services.

“Our best start, best life reforms are delivering 65 kindergartens this year and thousands of kindergarten places right across the state – so more children and families can access a world-class kinder close to home.”

Government schools to receive new kindergartens in 2025 include Barayip Primary School in Tarneit, Ballan Primary School, Greenvale Primary School and Broadmeadows Valley Primary School in Broadmeadows.
