Women’s conference delivered to Melbourne

Melbourne will host one of the biggest gender equality events to be held in Australia next year when the Women Deliver Conference 2026 happens at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

On Wednesday, the state government announced that the three day event, which is expected to attract 6500 gender advocates from around the world, will be held in Melbourne from April 27 to 30.

Held every three years, the conference will attract attendees from more than 170 countries around the world and more than 150 organisations.

Tourism and major events minister Steve Dimopoulos said Melbourne’s successful bid to host the conference further burnished the its reputation as a major events hub.

“We have a proven track record in delivering exceptional global events and Women Deliver will be no different – with thousands of delegates visiting the heart of Victoria and providing a major boost to our visitor economy,” Mr Dimopoulos said.

Next year’s Women Deliver Conference will be the first to be held in the Oceania Pacific region and will showcase the region’s efforts to advance gender equality and provide opportunities to strengthen and form new national and regional partnerships.
