Artistic swimming

Australia’s artistic swimming team obliterated its previous personal best on the second night of artistic swimming competition in the free team routine. The swim of 280.5521, is a massive 22.6397 improvement on the 257.9124 swam at the World Aquatics Cup super final in Budapest in July. The score was the 9th best in the competition, which also moved the team up one spot, to 9th overall. The total score after the second night is currently 516.4592.

Athletics

Linden Hall will have to make the semi finals of the 1500 metres the hard way after failing to finish in the top six in the heats. Hall started fast before fading to finish in eighth spot. It was announced on the broadcast that Hall had a calf injury. She will now compete in the repechage to qualify for the semi finals.

Basketball

The Boomers Olympic campaign is over after losing to Serbia in overtime in the quarter finals. The Boomers jumped Serbia early on and led by 24 points in the first half. The Serbians bought the margin back and led at three quarter time with scores level at the end of regular time. A 13-8 overtime period gave the Serbians the win, 95-90. Josh Giddey scored 25 points, while Dante Exum scored 12.
