Eight boys have been charged and bailed after evading police in two stolen vehicles through Wyndham on Monday afternoon.

It is alleged a Subaru and Kia were being driven erratically while travelling through the Wyndham and Melton areas on June 17.

With assistance from the police air wing, officers deployed stop sticks on Heaths Road, Hoppers Crossing, immobilising the Subaru Impreza sedan about 12.15pm.

The Subaru allegedly continued onto Forsyth Road, Tarneit, before it lost control shortly after.

Four male teenagers exited the Subaru and allegedly attempted to flee from police before being arrested near The Strand, Point Cook.

The air wing then tracked the Kia Sorrento SUV, travelling on Fitzgerald Road, Laverton North just after 1pm.

Police arrested four more boys at the scene.

There were no injuries.

It is alleged that the Kia was stolen from a property in Tarneit on June 17 and the Subaru was stolen from a property in Newport on June 13.

Two 17-year-old males from Tarneit, three 16-year-old males from Tarneit, a 16-year-old male from Truganina, a 15-year-old male from Tarneit and a 15-year-old male from Hoppers Crossing were all charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

They were all bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
