Wyndham locals are being encouraged to volunteer their time to attend the Wyndham Volunteer Expo next month.
The free expo will be held from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, May 11
at Encore Events Centre in Hoppers Crossing.
The expo will feature a range of volunteering organisations across all sectors and representatives will be on hand to provide information, answer
questions and have a chat about the various positions they offer.
Wyndham council is presenting the expo and mayor Jennie Barrera urged members of the community to come along.
“Wyndham City is encouraging anyone interested in volunteering to come along to the volunteer expo and find out about a range of opportunities that are available in our municipality,” she said.
“Come and meet your local community groups and not-for-profit organisations who
need your help.”
In promoting the event, Cr Barrera extolled the virtues of volunteering more broadly.
“Volunteering has many benefits and is a great way to get involved in the local
community, make a difference, build social connections, learn new skills and can be
a pathway to employment,” she said.
“Volunteering brings people together, it builds communities and creates a better
society for everyone.”
