Wyndham residents are invited to provide feedback on the council’s new proposed Building Design Principles.

The principles aim to guide the development of future community spaces, including youth services, kindergartens, community centres, arts facilities, and libraries.

These new facilities are needed to meet the ongoing growth of Wyndham’s community.

The council has introduced three new building design principles to enhance the experience of those participating in services and programs.

The three principles focus on creating facilities that are ‘accessible and inclusive,’ ‘functional and flexible’ and ‘sustainable and innovative.’

The ‘accessible and inclusive’ principle aims to create welcoming spaces for everyone that are accessible to people of all abilities.

The ‘functional and flexible’ principle aims to allow adaptation to the community’s evolving needs.

The ‘sustainable and innovative’ principle aims to support Wyndham’s sustainability goals through best practices.

Wyndham mayor Jennie Barrera thanked those who participated in the first round of consultation on the Building Design Principles in 2023.

“Their feedback has helped shape the three new Building Design Principles,” she said.

“As Wyndham continues to grow, we will need more facilities to meet the needs of our community and we aim to create spaces and offer services that help everyone in the community to be healthy and happy.”

The online survey feedback is available until April 27.
