Hoppers Crossing’s newest family centre has a new name.
Wyndham council endorsed the name Hoppers Crossing Family Centre (formerly
known as Mossfiel Integrated Family Centre) for the new facility, at its meeting on Tuesday night.
The new family centre, which is currently under construction, will replace the former Mossfiel Kindergarten and Hoppers
Crossing Children’s Centre at Mossfiel Reserve.
The name will now go to Geographic Names Victoria for formal gazettal and
registration.
The centre will welcome children and families for three and four-year-old
kindergarten from term 1 2024, and will also offer consulting rooms for Maternal and
Child Health or Allied Health services.
Wyndham deputy mayor Josh
Gilligan, said the new Hoppers Crossing Family Centre would triple the capacity of
kindergarten services previously delivered on-site.
“This important project will provide Hoppers Crossing families with early years
services all under one roof,” Cr Gilligan said.
“Hoppers Crossing Family Centre is a simple name that reflects the location of the
new facility and the services provided at this site, and I can’t wait to see the centre
open its doors in early 2024.”
This project is being jointly funded by the Department of Education and Wyndham
council, with the new building being delivered by the Victorian School Building Authority.
