Two men have been charged for allegedly pointing lasers at police helicopters flying above Wyndham in two separate incidents.
In the first instance the helicopter was flying over the Tarneit area when a laser was allegedly shone at the aircraft several times, at about 9.40pm on Sunday.
Air Wing officers directed police on the ground to an address on Hummingbird Avenue, Tarneit, where they arrested a 36-year-old Tarneit man and located a laser on the premises.
He has been charged with 21 offences including endangering the safe operation of an aircraft, possessing a prohibited weapon, reckless conduct endangering life and assault of an emergency worker.
In the second instance, the helicopter was flying above Werribee when a laser was allegedly shone at the aircraft several times at about 1am on Monday, September 25.
Air Wing officers directed police on the ground to an address on Bronson Circuit, Hoppers Crossing, where an 18-year-old St Albans man was arrested.
He has been charged with endangering the safe operation of an aircraft, possessing a prohibited weapon, reckless conduct endangering life, committing indictable offences whilst on bail and assault of an emergency worker.
Both were remanded and will reappear in court on Monday.
