Buses are replacing trains between Werribee and Newport today while crews undertake emergency repairs to overhead power lines in Laverton.

The disruptions will continue until the last service tonight and passengers are being asked to prepare for delays, especially during the morning and afternoon peaks.

Authorised officers are at Newport and Werribee stations to help passengers change between trains and buses, while commuters can also use the 153 and 498 bus routes between Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Laverton, or the 415 bus to connect with the Williamstown line.

Train services on the Williamstown line are not affected.

Drivers are urged to show caution around train stations on the Werribee line with extra buses and pedestrians expected.
