Children living in Wyndham can go on an adventure into the world of colour and light in a new exhibition at the Wyndham Cultural Centre.
Wyndham council has partnered with the award-winning Australian arts group Indirect Object to bring the exhibition to the city.
The free interactive program Chromatica: Colour Play features a range of workshops, installations and activities.
Councillor Marcel Mahfoud said Chromatica: Colour Play would be a wonderful activity for children of all ages.
“It will be a playground of colourful immersive experiences,” he said.
“The installations range from helping to create a glowing forest of 3D neon webs then seeing how it looks through a mirror prism to a large-scale modular kaleidoscope, where you can turn the wheels to create endlessly changing colour patterns.”
“People are encouraged to explore the installation outside of workshop sessions.”
The workshops are designed to bring out the creative side of our young residents and are scheduled on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 3.30pm on July 6-15.
They include making your own small mirror prisms from recycled silver cardboard shapes, to helping to create a neon mural and watching the colours change through 3D glasses to learning how to recycle plastic and make your own sun catcher.
Chromatics: Colour Play is at the Wyndham Cultural Centre’s The Annex Arts Space, 177 Watton Street, Werribee, from Wednesday, July 5 to Saturday, July 22.
