Wyndham Central College proudly prepares tomorrows leaders

Wyndham Central College is proudly preparing the leaders of tomorrow to be agile, innovative and creative problem solvers, through a range of excellent education programs, learning opportunities and teaching strategies.

Their schoolwide program, AVID underpins their teachings at Wyndham Central and how their students learn. While all students at Wyndham Central College are AVID students, it is also offered as an elective from Year 9 to Year 12. AVID assists all students to believe that they can achieve. It provides students with the tools, skills and knowledge to be successful students, to be university, work and career ready and to be active global citizens.

Their STEM academy challenges and equips students with skills to solve authentic problems for the complex world around them. Students are presented with mathematical and scientific concepts in ways that challenge their understanding of these key learning areas. They manage projects and work collaboratively in teams using advanced technology and engineering concepts.

The enrichment program at Wyndham Central aims to provide an optimal learning environment that addresses the unique social, emotional, and academic needs of students that display a talent in a particular area.

The program extends enrichment opportunities for students both within and beyond the classroom. All students in the enrichment program develop a project over the course of each year. The project centres on developing an authentic product or performance and allows students to build excellence in a real-world context.

Also with a popular Spanish immersion program provides students with an immersive exposure to a second language and culture. The underlying goal is to prepare students to be global citizens with abilities to listen, speak, read, and write in Spanish.
