Park upgrades commence

Truganina residents are a step close to having a sparkling upgraded area to enjoy the outdoors.

Construction has commenced on the Aquarius Street Reserve upgrade with the project to include an improved kick-about space, an expanded and upgraded path network, new BBQs, upgraded park furniture, new bike hoops, new toilets, more nature play, rubber softfall areas at the playground and more garden beds and trees.

Wyndham councillor Peter Maynard said these works would improve the overall accessibility, functionality and landscape quality of this popular reserve.

“This upgrade will elevate Aquarius Street Reserve to a district level park, meaning it will cater not only for Truganina residents but also the wider Wyndham community,” he said.

“By upgrading the existing infrastructure and introducing new elements, we aim to create a space that better caters for residents in the surrounding neighbourhood and encourages people to stay longer when they visit.”

“Each year Wyndham City undertakes upgrades across its open space network to ensure of community has great parks and playgrounds close to home, and I can’t wait to see the new-look Aquarius Street Reserve once work is complete.”

Work is expected to be complete in mid-2023.
