Wyndham Libraries After Dark program is running at Point Cook library on Thursday evenings.
The library opening hours have been extended until 9pm until the end of June, offering the community a great range of free programs and events.
Wyndham learning city portfolio holder councillor Jasmine Hill said the community can enjoy the regular range of library services during the extended hours and come in and chat with friendly staff, borrow a book, use a computer or relax in our welcoming space.
“The first activity at Libraries After Dark was a book club kit selection night for our 31 registered book clubs,” she said. “It was a success with lots of networking and discussion occurring.”
Other activities scheduled include Introduction to street photography and reading after dark for adults, as well as a late-night session of the popular craft and conversation program.
The highlight activity is Jessica Dettmann in conversation with Sally Hepworth – In Person and Online on March 30 at 7pm-8pm.
Libraries After Dark is a state government-funded initiative that seeks to increase social connections and reduce social isolation, a well-established risk factor for gambling harm.
