Current and aspiring school principals the chance to lead at seven new schools set to open across Wyndham next year.
Education minister Natalie Hutchins today announced applications are open for principal positions at the new schools in 2024.
“The school principal is a unique and critical role which requires dedicated educational leaders to go above and beyond to both inspire and support our students and staff,” Ms Hutchins said.
“I encourage all current and aspiring school principals to apply and lead these new schools in 2024 – to give every student access to a great learning experience and ensure they have the best education.”
The schools, known by their interim names, include:
Black Forest East Primary School
Lollypop Creek Secondary School
Lollypop Creek Specialist School
Riverdale Secondary School
Tarneit North Primary School
Truganina North Primary School
Truganina North Secondary School
The principals will be able to start at the new schools in Term 2, giving them nine months to prepare for the 2024 school year.
They will also need to recruit teachers and staff, design a curriculum and organisational structures that help achieve the school’s vision and values and create an identity for the school through its logo and uniform.
Current and aspiring principals can apply to lead the new schools through the Department of Education’s Recruitment Online portal.
Applications close on Thursday, 9 February 2023.
