The Wyndham Multicultural Lunar Festival will return for 2023 at the Stockland Point Cook on Saturday, February, 4 and will feature a wide range of artistic performances by local artists and other activities.
Organised by the Point Cook Cultural Community, nearly 80 performances are expected to entertain the crowds, including cultural performances by residents from China, India, Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Iraq and Tibetan.
The group’s president, Bob Fairclough said performances by will include singing, dancing, martial arts, theatre and a display of traditional costumes, and the festival will offer something the whole family.
“A wide range of delicious food from different cultures will also be available at the festival from food trucks, marquees and local restaurants featuring Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Mexican and Indian cuisine,” Mr Fairclough said.
“Children’s entertainment will include a thrilling children’s slide, face-painting, decorative balloons, jumping castles, mini golf and lantern making.”
Mr Fairclough said the Wyndham Street Surfer bus will be present to showcase a range of youth activities.
“Also during the festival a cultural exhibition of local Chinese artists by Chinese artists depicting landscapes, portraits and abstract art will be held at the Point Cook Community Learning Centre,” he said.
The event will run from 11am-9pm.
