Hungry residents can drop into the Manor Lakes Community Learning Centre to pick up a treat at the Youth Services Breakfast Club.

Running every Thursday morning from 8-8.45am, Wyndham mayor Peter Maynard said the club provides young people with the nourishment they need to start the school day.

“With the cost of living affecting many families, this initiative helps young people access breakfast before school, giving them a good start to the day,” Councillor Maynard said.

“We’re working hard to make Wyndham a healthy city, and providing young people with healthy breakfast is a great start.

“Young people can choose from a selection of drinks including juices, hot chocolate and Up and Go, as well as yogurt, muesli bars and fruit. It is all free.

Cr Maynard stressed the importance of having breakfast, and said the club is also a great way to make friends.

“Coming along on a Thursday morning to Breakfast Club also gives young people the opportunity to talk and make social connections and also access other services they may need,” he said.

“Wyndham’s Youth Services also offer after school activities [and] young people can pop in and say hello to our friendly youth workers at Manor Lakes Community Learning Centre on Wednesday afternoons where we offer a wide variety of free social and skill building activities and programs for young people of Wyndham aged 12-25.”
