From singing to a wall in the room of her Truganina home, to serenading a sea of supporters, Sienna Katelyn made it through to the grand final on Sunday’s episode of Australia’s Got Talent.

Describing herself as “super shy”, Sienna said she was “really nervous” to be performing for the first time without her dad, who usually sang back up harmonies or played an instrument.

“I got into music through my dad, he would be practicing for a gig and he would be singing,” she said.

“I started getting more serious about [performing] when I was seven, [but] I would face the wall even when I was singing to my mum.”

Sienna performed Mariah Carey’s Vision of Love during her semi-final performance.

The 11-year-old said she was “so in shock” and “couldn’t believe it” when she found out she had progressed to the next stage.

“I want to inspire young artists to go and chase after their dreams, and make sure they work hard and don’t give up for anything,” she said.

“I really hope singing leads me to [become] a pop star.”

Sienna’s mum Diana Desmier said it was a “very proud moment” for her.

“Sienna has worked very hard for years now, it was nice to see her hard work come to fruition [and it was] very emotional,” she said.

“Please support young artists and local talents, and vote for Sienna if you can.”
