It was a tough day out for Werribee in Bowls Victoria weekend pennant, division 2, section 1.

Facing Altona’s second side, the Bees were no match for them, losing 103 (18)-59 (0).

Brendan Barker’s rink was the best for the Bees, losing 23-21.

In the other rinks, Denis Hewitt’s rink lost 26-10, Mick O’Neil’s rink lost 28-12 and Gavin Joyce’s rink lost 26-16.

Werribee sits on 13 points after three rounds, which includes one of its matches being washed out.

Hoppers is the only side below them on the table, with just four points from three matches.

On Saturday, Hoppers lost to Melton 2, 110 (16)-60 (2).

Mario Aquilina was the winning skip, with his rink winning 18-16. Gregory Berry’s rink lost 37-12, Craig Timberlake’s lost 20-18 and Richard Lewczuk lost 37-12.

In division 3, section 1, Palm Lake was too good for Deer Park 3, winning 75 (15)-64 (3).

Neil Nicholas and David Manning were the winning skips for Palm Lake.

Werribee 2 lost to Williamstown in a thriller, 81 (14)-78 (4).

Point Cook had a day out against Maribyrnong Park in division 4, section 1, winning 119 (18)-49 (0).

William Stewart’s rink had a massive 40-5, while Barry Everard’s rink also won big, winning 36-13.

Point Cook sits top after three rounds.
