Werribee teacher receives excellence award

A Wyndham teacher has been honoured at the 2022 Victorian Education Excellence Awards.

Kimberley Zammit at Warringa Park School took out the award for Outstanding Secondary Teacher.

The Victorian Education Excellence Awards celebrate the state’s most inspirational teachers, principals, business managers, support staff and schools that work to improve schools and help students to achieve their best by developing skills and learning outcomes.

“To see Kimberley Zammit from Werribee named a winner in this year’s Victorian Education Excellence Awards is incredible and a testament to the wonderful work they do each day to support our students,” Werribee MP Tim Pallas.

“I congratulate them and thank them for their fabulous work for students across Werribee.”

The winners were chosen from a pool of 39 finalists and the awards also support the continued professional development of staff, with professional learning grants of $20,000 on offer for each individual award and $25,000 for each team award.

“Congratulations to all the winners and finalists of this year’s Victorian Education Excellence Awards – who have gone above and beyond to improve educational outcomes and support students across the state,” Education minister Natalie Hutchins said.

“I thank each and every one of them for their crucial contributions to the education sector – with theseawards a fantastic way to recognise and celebrate their invaluable work.”
