AnyBUDy heading to Werribee Park on November 5-6 is set for a blooming good time as the State Rose and Garden Show returns for 2022.
Hosted by Wyndham council, mayor Peter Maynard said this year’s event would provide something for the whole family.
“As well as enjoying the Victoria State Rose Garden in full bloom, visitors will be able to pick up tips from gardening experts, browse the plant and gardening stalls and relax in the grounds with live music and a range of delicious dining options,” Councillor Maynard said.
Creative city portfolio holder, Marcel Mahfoud, said that the program would feature a range of opportunities gardeners of all skills.
“Visitors will be able to learn what to grow and how to do it with a terrific stage line-up of gardening experts including Melissa King from ‘Better Homes and Gardens’, Millie Ross from ‘Gardening Australia’, Vasili Kanidiadis of ‘Vasili’s Garden’ and local horticulturist and author, Craig Castree,” Cr Mahfoud said.
“Free hands-on workshops will cover everything from permaculture, seedling care and beekeeping to making posies, nature art for kids and even learning how to paint a rose.”
Attendees can enjoy guided tours of the gardenm, a sensory garden and a sandpit for the kids.
Pop up floral installations designed by florists will also be featured at the show.
While the show is free, a gold coin donation is encouraged by Wyndham council, to assist with garden upkeep.
Residents can stop to smell the roses from 10am to 4pm on November 5 and 6, and the Victoria State Rose Garden.
