There will be rides, food trucks, games and live music at the Baden Powell Derrimut Heath Campus’ 30 year birthday celebration, and residents are invited to attend.
Teacher Rebecca Young said the past few years had been tough for the community, and the school wanted to celebrate and connect with the public in an effort to build community spirit.
“A strong school community like our doesn’t happen overnight, in the past 30 years there have been thousands of students and staff members that have helped shape BPC and we are thankful for their contributions,” Ms Young said.
“Our Derrimut Heath Campus is 30 years old this year and we want to mark it with a giant celebration for our past and current students, families, staff and community.
“What’s more fun than a carnival.”
While the students are eager for show bags and the animal farm, Ms Young said the dunking machine had the children particularly excited.
“Our students are very much looking forward to having the opportunity to dunk their teacher into a huge water tank, with one accurate throw they will send them into the tank and leave them dripping wet,” she said.
The event will be held at Sycamore St, Hoppers Crossing on October 20, from 3-7pm.
