Good News Luthern College recently held a celebration commemorating 25 years since the school opened.
Principal Fiona McAuliffe said she loved watching the staff and the students enjoy their day together.
“I am most proud of the people, who the students are, what staff have done over the years to become such a highly respected place where people just feel happy while they are achieving their best,” Ms McAuliffe said.
“Part of getting established, our volunteers did a lot of work to be able to provide even the little things for the school, so there were a lot of sausage sizzles in the foundation years, so we [had] a sausage sizzle, just to acknowledge how many sausages would have been sold just to try and get some books in the library at that stage.
“The [students will] be wearing [school colours] so they’ll be celebrating how proud we are of the colours, we were them with pride because we know how hard it has been to get to where we are.
“25 years ago congregation community members they volunteered their time, they planted 300 gum trees around the perimeter of the site, that’s why we’re giving a tree to each of our junior students.”
